The Art of Presence

Manifest

I believe

that curiosity is the beginning of every creative journey.

I believe

that presence transforms the way we see the world.

I believe

that creativity lives within every human being.

Not as a talent.

But as an essential part of who we are.

I believe

that art reconnects us

with what has always been within us.

That is why I do not simply create paintings.

I create spaces

where people can pause.

Observe.

Discover.

Create.

I believe

that every child enters the world with a natural sense of curiosity.

And that adults, too,

can rediscover this way of seeing.

Because true art does not end on the canvas.

It lives on.

In the way we see.

The way we think.

The way we feel.

The way we act.

And in the way we meet the world.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My artistic practice explores presence, perception, memory and transformation through painting, material, and increasingly spatial forms of expression.

I approach painting not as a fixed, closed image, but as a living surface. My works are created through layers of colour, pigments and natural materials such as sand and mineral textures. I apply, erase, cover and reveal these layers, allowing traces of different stages of the process to remain visible. For me, the surface becomes a form of memory: something is preserved, something disappears, and something unexpected emerges.

Nature has always been an important source of my visual language. Water, horizons, changing light, erosion and atmospheric landscapes appear in my work without becoming literal representations. I am interested in the space between abstraction and recognition — the moment when an image feels familiar but cannot be completely defined.

More recently, the human figure has begun to enter my paintings as a fragmented, blurred or dissolving presence. Rather than portraying

a specific person, these figures evoke traces of identity, memory and earlier versions of ourselves.

My current research expands painting beyond the traditionally stretched canvas. I experiment with raw canvas, fabric, transparency, movement and natural materials, asking what happens when a painting is released from its rigid support and begins to respond to gravity, light, air and the surrounding space.

This development is connected to my broader artistic approach, The Art of Presence — an exploration of how art can create moments of heightened perception, stillness and encounter.

I am interested in painting as something we do not only look at, but experience physically and emotionally — an image that can become surface, memory, body, movement and space.
